Meet Ronald Mugabe - Artist
I first learned about Ronald Mugabe when I was working for an international NGO that worked in Uganda.
He was one of a group of boys rescued from the streets of Kampala and supported by the INGO. I began to follow him on Facebook and bought my first piece of art from him for a friend in April of 2019. That started a friendship that has deepened and expanded. I was fortunate to travel to Uganda in September, 2019 and was able to meet Ronald and learn more about him. Over the last 2 years we have sold over 100 of his beautiful paintings together. When I met him he was thinking about giving up as he couldn’t sell enough of his paintings to sustain himself. Thankfully, all that has changed now. I would love to see him represented by galleries around the world. I would love to help him have a website of his own. I would love to see someone help him run his business. I would love to see him own his own house. I would love to see him able to help other artists in Uganda (he already does this, but he has bigger dreams about that). I would love him to welcome visitors to his own studio where they can learn more about him and about an artist’s life in Uganda. I would love to see him travel the world, telling his story and helping others reach for and achieve their dreams. I would love him to have clients in every country of the world (his art is already in Australia, Switzerland, Greece, the UK, Bermuda, the US and Canada)
